Will buy again

"Most comfortable clipless shoes I tried so far. The upper stretch liner keeps small rocks away. It will be 3rd season riding park every weekend."

So Stoked

"Great Shoes are very hard to find! These are the best I have had in years!! Boa systems are quick and efficient and don't come un tied. The GE9 balances light weight with support and a nice open toe box. It has a modern cleat position. Its been a long road to find this shoe after 4 pair of RC, 1-NW, 2-Specy. I never write reviews but this shoe is a game changer for me. Absolutely love this shoe."

Wanted to like them, but make my feet numb

"I've been running the Giro Chamber II shoes for the last 4-5 years now and decided to try something new with the BOA closure system. I heard a lot of good things about shimanos shoes so decided to give these a try. Unfortunately, they do not meet my expectations. The toebox is far too roomy for my feet and I could not get them tight enough with the BOA closure and if you tighten the velcro strap too much it will cut off the circulation to your feet and they go numb. Even with the velcro strap loosened I still noticed my feet going numb. In addition to that, the strap hits my cranks when pedaling if its not tight enough. So after two rides and much adjustment, I've given up on them. Luckily I was able to return them and I'll be buying my outdated shoes that still work and fit great."

Could be better

"Hands down Shimano makes some of the best shoes. My ME7s were getting worn so I tried these. I liked that the GE9 doesn't have the ankle protection that the GE7 does. I cut off the gaiters, which I also do on my ME7s because it makes them more breathable. My biggest gripe is just the overall bulk of the shoe. Bulky shoes tend to sit too close to your cranks and that sometimes interferes with clipping out. My second gripe is likewise the inside is just a bit unnecessarily roomy. I have wider feet but I want my bike shoes to feel close to my foot. overall if they could have made the shoe about 10 percent narrower. Third, the breathability isn't great. What I do like is that the shape is very comfortable when pedaling or walking. And Shimano always gets the cleat stack to be so minimal so your foot feels very close to the pedal. The stiffness is great, could be a touch stiffer but nearly perfect. If these were more breathable and a bit less bulky they'd be A+. I hope they come out with another ME series, but these are still among the best options for aggressive trail riding and people that don't like the weird shape of XC shoes."

👍👍👍

"Finally a comfortable, trail/enduro oriented shoe with efficient power transfer AND hike-ability! By far the best shoe I’ve had for big days, hard riding and getting lost in the mountains."

Weird mismatched closure system. Bad sizing.

"I love SPD pedals and I purchased these to mate with my XT trails. First the good. The flex and feel of these shoes for trail and enduro riding is almost perfect, could be a touch stiffer for me at 230lbs but workable. I really like the color. The sole and tread feels great for hike a bike and even driving feels natural. Now the not so good. Sizing is way off compared to industry standard and the sizing chart is flat out wrong. I could have sized down a half size but they don't offer them. Why is the size run so limited for an expensive top of the line shoe? Also this is an older style boa and not as good as the new design IMO. I also find the Velcro strap at the top pointless. If you run it even a little snug it cuts into your ankle and the top of your foot. Why not just do double BOA like every other shoe in this category. I really wish I would have sent these back when I got them but wanted to give them a fair shake. Really disappointed in these shoes."
