Stylish and comfortable off bike

"These look and feel great off the bike. BOA closure is also quite nice. Grippy sole is a nice contrast to the old MTB shoes I normally commute in that can be hazardous on wet floors and icy steps. However, even using the most forward positioning of the cleat, the cleat remains rather mid-foot. Certainly I will get used to the position in terms of just developing the muscle memory to find the pedal. But the mid-foot position feels unathletic, and I have a slight sense of knee strain. I definitely won’t wear these for any serious rides. That said, these shoes will be wonderful for longer bike errands and shopping or meeting others at a restaurant or bar, where I’d prefer not to hang out or stroll indefinitely in stiff-soled “bike shoes.” But because of the cleat placement, I wouldn’t use these for touring, despite the off-the-bike comfort."

Best option for travelling and gravel

"An excellent all around cycling shoe, works perfectly as a gravel or touring shoe and you can also walk for hours... Obviously it is not made for races but, unless you are racing, you will be extremely happy with it! Totally recommended!"

"Bought shoe for a bike tour in Mallorca. Good enough but lose performance for comfort/walking compatibility. It’ll work for touring just know it is too soft to be efficient."

do you have cleat caps for some of use that don't use spd's
Hello Glenn, there is no cover available for this shoe to cover the SPD mounts. We do, however, offer a non-SPD version, the [SH-ET701](https://ride.shimano.com/collections/tour-bikepacking/products/sh-et701?_pos=1&_fid=263c3385c&_ss=c). This should be just what you're looking for!
Do these have a wider toe box like xm909 boots?
