Wide is great, tongue is not padded enough

"I had been wearing shoes that were too long for me because I needed something wide enough for my feet, and then someone pointed out I should just buy wide shoes...duh! Also, bonus points for having enough room for my custom orthodics. Downside is the tongue. It is not that thick/soft and does not overhang enough to really protect your top of your foot from getting pinched by the top strap of the shoe. So it's comfy for part of your pedal rotation and pinchy-hurts for the other part. I won't buy these again for that reason."

Q&A

Hi. I am very interested in the RC5 shoe as I have quite wide feet and higher arch than average. I tend to find my toes are numb and the balls of my feet sore with my current shoes on longer rides and think the RC5 would be a good option for me. However, I have seen references to both "RC5" and "RC5 Wide" - are these different shoes or does teh standard shoe have a wider toe-box? Thx
Hello Iain, The RC5 wide is a different shoe construction and uses our Dana-Last WIDE this adds 5% to the toe box and 6% in other areas. It is ideal for both wider feet and higher arches that require a higher volume shoe.
