"I’d love nothing more than to celebrate a successful purchase from Shimano as I’ve never had a bad experience or had anything less than a top-notch product from them. Aside from style and lens clarity these sunglasses didn’t reach the bar. While super light weight, they lack the confidence-building sturdiness one would and should expect. In fact, my lens disengaged while riding last weekend. I had to quickly stuff the parts in my jersey pocket and when the lens fell out onto the road I had zero desire to retrieve it and instead rode on knowing I’d hit the same loop again soon. I spent 20 years as an optician and have dealt with interchangeable lenses since the 80s. The lens was correctly installed but apparently just couldn’t take the jostle of a rough patch in the road. Having left my tried/true pair at home, I made the purchase on the fly just before the Asheville Gran Fondo and probably would have passed but for the necessity. I’ll be more patient next time. :("
